Short answer: on 2 November 2026, human-edited virtual staging cost $16 to $24 an image at the two services we found that publish a flat per-image price, and $59 to $70 a photo at one that sells packages by home size. AI tools charged from 13 cents a credit, on one tool’s largest plan, to $15 an image pay as you go, and their units differ: a photo, a credit, a coin or a generation. Duskly charges $5 a photo or $29 a listing. Every price below is quoted from the company’s own pricing page, opened that day, with the link next to it.
Many “how much is virtual staging” articles quote prices without a link to the company’s page. We used none of them. If a page needed a login or a quote request to show a price, we would say “price not published”; every company here showed one.
The prices, side by side
“Price per photo” is what the page says, or simple arithmetic on its own numbers where it sells credits or bundles. A credit is not always a photo, so read the notes below before comparing the AI rows.

Notes per company, where the terms matter
Human-edited services. BoxBrownie’s staging page says “VIRTUAL STAGING – ONLY US$24.00 PER IMAGE WITH NO SUBSCRIPTIONS” and promises staging “in under 48 hours”. Its price list shows the same US$24.00, and US$48.00 for 360° staging. Styldod lists its Standard price at “$23 (USD) per image” “If you order less than 8 images”, and its Bulk Order price at “$16 (USD) per image” “If you order 8 or more images”, both with “Turnaround time: 24-48 hours” and a “100% money back guarantee if not satisfied”.
VSS prices by home size. VSS’s pricing page (virtualstagingsolutions.com now redirects to joinvss.com) opens on a 1,500 to 2,500 sq ft home: “$210 Includes up to 3 photos”, “$408 Includes up to 6 photos” and “$569 Includes up to 9 photos”. That is $70, $68 and about $63 a photo. Its FAQ adds: “you can add extra photos for $59 each.” A slider changes the price with the home’s size, and payment comes first: “We require payment when you submit your project.”
PhotoUp’s staging is AI, bought with credits. PhotoUp’s pricing page prices AI Virtual Staging at “3+ credits/image” and on-demand ordering “at $1.50/credit”. Three credits at $1.50 is $4.50 on demand; the page does not say when an image takes more than three. The monthly plans cost less per image. The smallest, Starter, is $39 a month billed quarterly (“$117 paid quarterly”) or $49 billed monthly, for “50 credits/mo”: about $2.34 or $2.94 an image at three credits. Across the three plans it is about $2.28 to $2.99. Additional credits are “$1.10+/credit”, about $3.30 an image.
Apply Design sells coins. Apply Design’s pricing page charges one-click staging at “2D image: 1.5” coins and its do-it-yourself editor at “2D image: 1” coin. A coin is “$7 USD” when you buy 20 or more, “$8 USD” for 10 to 19 and “$10 USD” for up to 9. So one auto-staged photo costs $10.50 to $15, and a DIY one $7 to $10. “First image is free.”
Virtual Staging AI is a monthly quota. Virtual Staging AI’s prices page, on monthly billing, lists 6 photos for $25 (“$4.17 / photo”), 20 for $35, 60 for $79 and 150 for $139 (“$0.93 / photo”). Yearly billing is lower: “Just $16/mo” up to “Just $79/mo”, billed yearly. A slider sells more photos a month at a lower rate. Its FAQ: “For each uploaded photo you can generate as many staged versions (renders) as you want to.”
REimagineHome charges per generation. REimagineHome’s pricing page showed us Essential at $19 a month for 30 credits (“$0.63” a credit), Pro at $36 for 200, Advanced at $59 for 400 and Agency at $119 for 900 (“$0.13”). “One generation = one credit.” Essential is described as “Basic staging + light edits using legacy tools”. The same page’s title reads “$14–$99/mo”, so the price you see may differ from the one we saw. Its refund policy names the operator as “Styldod, Inc.”
Collov counts generations too. Collov’s pricing page, on monthly billing, lists 60 photo credits for $27, 150 for $59, 263 for $99 and 526 for $170, or “Just $19/mo with yearly billing” for the smallest. A slider sells more credits a month at a lower rate. AI virtual staging costs “1 Photo Credit / Generation” on every plan, while the smallest plan also lists “Unlimited regeneration”. Its terms, section 8.1, explain how the two fit: “Credits are deducted upon successful initial generation. Regeneration of the same image does not deduct additional credits unless otherwise specified in the product interface.”
Pedra sells credits in euros. Pedra’s pricing page lists “29€ / month” for “100 credits every month”, and “1 credit: each AI-staged or transformed photo”. Bigger monthly bundles go down to “0.20€” a credit at 600, and the yearly plan is “239€ / year” for “1,200 credits every year”.
What to compare besides the price
What a retry costs. On a per-image service, changes are part of the price: BoxBrownie will make a change if you “make the request within 2 months of the original job date”, and Styldod lists “Unlimited Free Revisions”. On a credit plan, a second try can be a second credit. REimagineHome counts “One generation = one credit”, while Virtual Staging AI lets you make unlimited renders of each uploaded photo.
Whether a failed render costs you. Pedra says that if you thumbs-down a result and “the feedback reflects a genuine issue with the output, you may receive your credit back automatically.” REimagineHome’s refund policy says that after “a verified technical issue” it “may, at our discretion” restore the credit, give a replacement generation or another remedy, and that “A result is not a technical failure only because the design style, furniture, color, layout, product match, or AI interpretation is not exactly what you expected.”
Turnaround. Styldod quotes 24 to 48 hours and BoxBrownie under 48 hours; the VSS pricing page gives no time. Apply Design quotes a “15-minute turnaround” and Virtual Staging AI “10 seconds turnaround”.
The original and the disclosure. A staged photo needs a label under every MLS rule we could read, and in California a link to the original too. See is virtual staging legal? and watermark or caption? for the rules. Of the pricing pages above, Collov’s lists a “One-click virtual staging disclaimer” on its smallest plan, and BoxBrownie’s staging page says “we advise clearly disclosing to potential buyers that the images have been virtually staged.”, and Styldod’s says “The safest approach is to label virtually staged images clearly and follow your MLS rules.” Whoever stages it, keep the empty-room photo: you will need it.
A free try. Styldod’s first image is free, and so is Apply Design’s. PhotoUp gives 5 free credits, REimagineHome 5 free designs and Pedra 7 credits on sign-up. Duskly shows 2 free renders without an account and 1 more when you sign in.
Whether the room is still the room. A cheap render that adds a door or rebuilds a window costs you more than it saved. Check every render against its original with our 10 checks for bad virtual staging.
Costs the pages state outside the headline price
- Rush fees. Styldod: “Rapid Delivery: Within 24 hours (additional $6 per image)” and “Super Rapid Delivery: Within 12 hours (additional $12 per image)”.
- Small orders cost more. Under 8 images is $23 instead of $16 at Styldod, and under 10 coins is $10 instead of $7 at Apply Design.
- Photos past the package. $59 each at VSS.
- Unused quota. Virtual Staging AI: “There is no credit system in place with unused credits rolling over into the next month.” Collov: “Photo usage resets each month”.
- Auto-renewal. Virtual Staging AI’s terms: “YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW AT THE END OF EACH SUBSCRIPTION TERM”. Collov’s terms, 8.4: “Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled prior to the renewal date.”
- Refunds. BoxBrownie, on a change of mind: “purchases are final and we do not offer refunds.” Virtual Staging AI: “full refunds within 7 days if you have uploaded less than 10 photos”. REimagineHome: within 7 days if “you have used fewer than 10 credits”.
How Duskly helps
Duskly is $5 for one photo, with several re-runs of it included, or $29 for every photo of one listing. The listing is cheaper from six photos up; on a 25-photo shoot our pricing page puts it at about $1.16 a photo. For volume there are monthly plans: $89 for 6 listings and $299 for 25. The one-off prices do not renew; the monthly plans renew until you cancel, with an email before each charge. Source: Duskly pricing.
We are not the lowest price per photo in the table. Several AI tools above publish a lower price per photo or credit, most of all on a monthly subscription. What the price includes: the edit at full size, the untouched original paired with it, disclosure wording for each place you publish, and a public page for the original with a QR code for print. You see a full render at preview size before you pay: 2 free without an account, 1 more when you sign in. On a paid photo or listing you pay for the photo, not the attempts, so attempts our checks reject cost you nothing extra. Those checks compare every staging render with your photo for framing, the room’s edges, doors, windows and kitchen islands; they do not check wall paint or flooring.
